Ozone wings
The ozone team came out to test some new wings-was great to get to know these guys, they are so humble and kind even though they are the flying rock stars of our sport. Alex Mateos standing next to me is the current world champion in most of the disciplines. The Spyder 3 offers massive improvements in handling, launch behavior, and top speed. The first things a Spyder pilot will notice is better inflation and launch characteristics, and significantly more agile and precise handling. The Spyder 3 is designed for pilots of all abilities, from newly qualified to advanced. It is a dedicated paramotor wing with a full reflex profile. Based on the Roadster 3, the Spyder 3 uses a carefully selected blend of lightweight cloths for the main surfaces and ribs, with optimized internal construction, reducing sail weight and pack volume. The lighter sail is a positive all-around, with easier launch, a more agile and responsive feel, and improved passive safety (reduced sail inertia).

THE TECH
The Spyder 3 delivers all of the benefits of an advanced reflex profile and the patented OZONE SharkNose. The Shark Nose OZONE Reflex Profile was developed specifically for powered flight. It maintains a constant level of lift and internal pressure over a wide range of angles of attack, giving exceptional levels of stability throughout the speed range. In turbulent air, even at low angles of attack, the Spyder 3 is highly collapse resistant – the reflex profile absorbs turbulence and remains inflated even without pilot input. At high angles of attack the brake range is very forgiving, meaning that deep inputs can be made without the risk of stall.

The Spyder 3 features a new internal structure designed to increases the strength and longevity of the sail without adding weight. Further changes have been made to the twist of the wing and overall line lengths to improve roll stability and dampen the effects of engine torque, whilst improving the overall handling.
LAUNCH AND LANDING
On the ground the inflation is smooth and constant in any wind speed, with a gentle and consistent rise without shooting or lagging behind, even with the trimmers set to the slow position. Due to its exceptional inflation behaviour it excels in nil-wind conditions with a low take-off speed, enabling you to launch and land in small areas.

Despite its easy and forgiving nature the most striking characteristic of the Spyder 3 is its fun and agility – it is a real pleasure to fly. *This wing has passed the criteria required by the DGAC and has been load tested to the EN 926-1 standard. In addition to our own extensive testing, it has also been independently flight tested to the EN 926-2 standard without the use of the accelerator system and with the trimmers set to the slow position. Releasing the trimmers, operating the accelerator system or flying outside of the EN certified weight range invalidates any EN flight certification.
As delivered, the wing does not conform to the EN 926-2 standard due to the inclusion of the accelerator and trimmer systems on the risers.
The Viper 5 is a high performance PPG wing designed for experienced pilots searching for the highest levels of efficiency, speed and performance. It features the latest design elements and technology taken directly from our high performance PG and PPG development programs to deliver a super-sleek, exciting wing, ideal for XC flying and classic competitions.
Based on the successful Viper 4, the Viper 5 shares the same planform, aspect ratio and cell count. Gains have been made by smoothing the airflow at the leading edge with double 3D shaping, improving the tension of the trailing edge for reduced drag at all angles of attack along with adjustments to the internal structure for better sail cohesion and solidity. The proven reflex profile is super solid throughout the speed range and accepts low angles of attack for a very fast top speed, up to 10kmh faster than its predecessor.
Higher performance allows for better fuel efficiency and extended XC flights so there is no need to fly over-powered. In thermal conditions its behavior is similar to a free flight paragliding wing with very agile, intuitive handling and exceptional climb and glide performance. The use of light weight fabric on the lower surface reduces the overall weight of the sail and gives improved handling, greater feel and better inflation characteristics.
The Viper 5 features updated risers with a built in PK system directly connecting the accelerator and trimmers for a more direct action and increased top speed. The long range trimmers have the new Rollercam trimmer buckles for a smoother feel and easier adjustment in the air. The risers also feature a new 2D steering system which improves high speed control.
Combined, these features make the Viper 5 the perfect tool for classic competitions and XC flying: fast, efficient, solid and agile. Designed specifically for competent, experienced pilots, the Viper 5 is a real pleasure to fly and is ready to take you on your next adventure.
